At the iconic McNay Art Museum, we partnered with photographer Matthew Alvarado to create a styled editorial inspired by the wedding day of Marion Koogler McNay and her husband, Donald McNay.
Set against the museum’s historic Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, the shoot reimagined their romance while honoring Marion’s remarkable legacy in San Antonio.
The design drew inspiration from Marion McNay’s deep appreciation for Pueblo art—layering earthy textures, artisanal details, and refined Southwestern elements into a setting that felt both artistic and personal. More than a love story, the editorial celebrated Marion herself: a visionary collector, a woman of extraordinary taste, and a spirited individual who chose generosity over exclusivity by ultimately donating her beloved home and art collection to the city.
The result was a romantic tribute to enduring love, artistic passion, and the legacy of a woman whose gift transformed San Antonio’s cultural landscape.
